Taking the steam turbine hall of a large clean and efficient coal-fired power plant in China as an example, the indoor heat dissipation and temperature distribution in winter are analysed, and a scheme of using air-source heat pumps to recover the air waste heat from the steam turbine hall is proposed. The COP variation of the air-source heat pumps under different environmental and water outlet temperatures is analysed, and the COP mathematical model is fitted. The results show that the average COP of the air-source heat pump units of the project during the heating period increases by about 20%, and the COP increases by nearly 32% during the coldest period, saving about 23 000 kWh of electricity annually, and the energy saving benefit is significant.
